About
Open-source Node.js tool from New York Public Radio for turning audio clips into waveform videos.
Audiogram is a self-hosted application released by New York Public Radio's digital team in 2016. It generates a shareable video from an audio clip with an animated waveform, a themed background for the show and a caption.
It popularised the "audiogram" format used widely by podcasts and public radio. It requires running a Node.js server with FFmpeg, so it suits developers and newsrooms that want an in-house, brandable tool rather than a hosted service.
